Get all Krem Coins at once
Method:
- In Stage 1-1, enter the first room and exit immediately without doing anything.
- A short distance ahead, pick up the bunch of bananas near the green monster (Kremlin). Under no circumstances should you take two bananas at this point.
- Then, return to the room and take the balloon.
- Leave the room again and go back to grab the bunch of bananas. Under no circumstances should you take two bananas at this time.
- There is a Krem Coin in the room; touching it will instantly grant you 75 coins.
Effect:
If
you meet the conditions, Krem Coins
that don’t normally appear will appear.
Hidden command to return to the map from an uncompleted stage
Method:
- Press the [Start] button while on an uncompleted stage.
-
While paused, enter the following sequence:
→Y ←A ↑B ↓X
(Enter quickly, within about 2 seconds.)
Effect:
- The "Exit Stage" option, which is normally only available on cleared stages, becomes available even on uncompleted stages.
- If successful, the character-switch voice clip will play, the screen will fade to black, and you will return to the World Map.
- Any items collected—such as lives, bananas, banana coins, DK coins, and Krem coins—will be retained when you return to the map.
- If you have destroyed the mid-stage barrel, you can also resume from that point.
Note:
This
"Tips
" is not a bug but is believed to be an intentional debug command by the developer
, Rare
. It was discovered by an overseas
fan community in 2024 and officially confirmed after approximately 30 years.
Team Up for a Big Jump
How to enter:
- Enter a team-up state (press the A button to lift one of the Kongs).
-
Perform a forward throw
with the lifted character to slam them into an enemy. *Note: If you
are too close to the enemy, the move will fail, so make sure to throw from a reasonable distance
. - If you jump while the thrown character is returning, you will jump higher than usual.
- Furthermore, if you throw the character upward while in that state, you can reach a height equivalent to a double jump.
Effect:
- You can jump significantly higher than with a normal jump.
- Depending on the stage layout, this can be used to reach high areas or shortcuts that would otherwise be inaccessible.
- This works not only with enemies but also with Animal Containers and the "Clapper" (ice seal).

7-1 Skip the Race with the Ice Seal
How to do it:
- In the "7-1 Screech's Sprint" stage, you can skip the race by passing directly over the waiting "Screech."

Rambi Double Jump
Input Method:
While
Rambi
is performing a Super Dash, jump and, while in the air, hold down the B button and press the directional pad in the opposite direction of travel
.
(If there is too long a delay between pressing the B button and inputting the opposite direction, you will fail. Simultaneous input is also acceptable.)
Effect:
This allows
you to jump again in midair—the so-called "double jump." If
you input the opposite direction briefly, it will behave as a forward double jump
.
Note:
You can also activate this by holding
down the B button after jumping and immediately turning around. While it can be used
like a long jump on certain terrain or ledges, its practical applications are limited.

Squitter Footing Generation
Input Method:
- Perform this while transformed into the spider animal "Squitter (Squitter)."
- Pressing the L or R button allows you to generate a platform, just like the A button.
- Furthermore, pressing L and R simultaneously allows you to instantly create a platform right where you are.
Effect:
- You can use the L and R buttons to generate platforms, a function normally performed with the A button.
- Pressing L and R simultaneously allows you to place platforms instantly and at a faster rate than usual, enabling rapid, consecutive platform generation.
Note:
- Since the game design assigns this input to multiple buttons, this can be considered a "Tricks" feature.
- If timed correctly, you can place a platform immediately after jumping to ascend continuously.

Transparent Object Retention Bug
There are various ways to make it appear as though you are holding a barrel even when you aren’t.
1-2 Mainbrace Mayhem
If performed with the Beetle early in the game, a Warp Barrel is summoned, resulting in an instant stage clear (also used in RTA runs)
How to trigger:
- Find a location where two Beetles (carryable bugs) or one Beetle and one Cruncher (muscular crocodile) are present at the same time.
-
Pick up one Beetle, and just before throwing it at the other Beetle or the Cruncher
,
release the Y button to throw it, then immediately press the Y button again. - When the thrown Beetle hits an enemy, Dixie will perform a slight bounce-back animation.
- At the same time, you will be in the act of catching the Beetle that should have hit the enemy.
- If you hold down the Y button and hit an enemy again while in this state, the enemy will be defeated, but Dixie will be frozen in the motion of holding the Beetle.
Effect:
- Dixie enters a state where she is "holding a transparent Beetle."
- Her attack animations and jumping behavior become unnatural, and in some stages, she may become uncontrollable.
- This is essentially a glitch where the Beetle is "held while invisible," leaving only the throw detection active.

3-5 Piranha Disappearance on the Sinking Ship
How to trigger:
- Set the game mode to "Two Player Team" and start the game.
- Before entering the "Sinking Shipwreck" course, make sure you have both characters (Diddy and Dixie) on the team.
- Stand at the far right of the starting platform, and just before you fall, hold ↓ (Crouch) and drop into the water.
- Continue falling underwater while crouching, and release ↓ the moment your character disappears off-screen.
- Immediately afterward, you will be bitten by a piranha enemy; if a character switch occurs and the screen freezes at that moment, you have succeeded.
Effect:
- If successful, the piranha enemies will disappear, and you will be able to swim freely underwater.
- As a result, you can obtain DK Coins without needing to collect the Invincibility Barrel.
- In this state, you won’t take damage from enemies and can safely progress through the stage.
Notes:
- Be careful: enemies will respawn if you enter a bonus stage, die, or return to the starting point.
- The timing of the steps is very precise, so the success rate is low until you get used to it.
